Our Mission
The Japan Career Development Association (JCDA) is dedicated to enhancing career counseling quality, fostering career autonomy, and creating social impact through the expertise of CDAs. In FY2024, guided by the slogan “Establishing Career Counseling as Sustainable Social Infrastructure”, we expanded activities that connect individual growth with societal well-being.
Key Achievements
1. Professional Development & Member Engagement
- Delivered 12,488 Career Consultant Renewal Courses and 1,059 skill-up training sessions.
- Conducted supervisor and instructor training to strengthen field leadership.
- Supported active nationwide branch activities, peer learning, and study groups.
- Published the JCDA Journal quarterly for knowledge sharing.
2. National Career Consultant Examination
- Administered three sessions as a designated testing body, with 5,188 examinees in total.
3. Public Outreach & Social Contribution
- Expanded the “Golden Threads” self-exploration program, held the 3rd Golden Threads Award, and published a guidebook.
- Continued the Ribora career support program for cancer survivors, in collaboration with the Japan Cancer Society and other partners.
- Implemented CDA STUDENT certification for university students and career workshops for elementary to high school students.
- Advanced the Career Dock program to encourage periodic career check-ups.
4. Quality Enhancement in Career Counseling
- Introduced a new Supervision(SV) system offering personalized learning and reflective practice.
- Promoted ethical practice and continual skills improvement for all members.
Looking Ahead
In the coming year, JCDA will:
- Strengthen local and international collaboration in career development.
- Promote career counseling as a societal system accessible to all life stages.
- Integrate human expertise with digital tools to create inclusive, sustainable career support.
Through these efforts, JCDA will continue to open “doors of possibility”—for individuals, organizations, and society.
